Needs to be much more nuts and boltsy, and less soft survey like. As an example, doesn't even define what makes a bank regulatable as a bank -- one of the most basic issues in banking law.

Lovett traces the development of the current trends in banking and financial law, beginning with the First Bank of the U.S. The book also explains how banking law evolved with respect to the existing economic and political climate. Buy this book! There is no better synopsis of banking/financial law.
